Marshall Bruce “Eminem” Mathers III (born October 17, 1972) is an American rapper, record producer, actor, and songwriter. Eminem is from Detroit, Michigan. In addition to his solo career, he is a member of D12 and (with Royce da 5’9″) half of the hip-hop duo Bad Meets Evil. Eminem is the best-selling artist of the 2000s in the United States. Rolling Stone ranked him 83rd on its list of 100 Greatest Artists of All Time, calling him the King of Hip Hop. Including his work with D12 and Bad Meets Evil, Eminem has had ten number-one albums on the Billboard 200. He has sold more than 172 million albums, making him one of the world’s best-selling artists. Tupac Amaru Shakur (June 16, 1971 – September 13, 1996), known by his stage names 2Pac, Pac, and Makaveli, was an American rapper and actor. Shakur has sold over 75 million albums worldwide as of 2007, making him one of the best-selling music artists in the world. Rolling Stone Magazine named him the 86th Greatest Artist of All Time. Shakur was also an actor. The themes of most of Tupac’s songs are the violence and hardship in inner cities, racism, social problems . TuPac was the total package: elegant, cinematic looks combined with some of the deepest rhymes ever attempted by a male MC. Tragically, the world was robbed of his unique beauty at a young age, and aficionados of male rap were left forever pining for Pac’s dreamy eyes.

3. Jay-Z

Jay-Z emerged as that rare personality that has successfully melded street cred, popular mass appeal, swagger, and the classic Horatio Alger rags-to-riches storyline. As a rapper, Jay-Z may be most notable for his smooth delivery and authoritative voice that commands listeners to dance. In addition to Nas, rappers 50-Cent, Camron, Jim Jones, and Prodigy have resurrected their careers simply through challenging Jay-Z. 4. Notorious B.I.G.

Christopher George Latore Wallace (May 21, 1972 – March 9, 1997), best known as The Notorious B.I.G., was an American rapper. He was also known as Biggie Smalls (after a character in the 1975 film Let’s Do It Again), Big Poppa, and The Black Frank White (after the main character of the 1990 film King of New York). Wallace was raised in the Brooklyn borough of New York City. When Wallace released his debut album Ready to Die in 1994, he became a central figure in the East Coast hip-hop scene

Nas His debut album, Illmatic, is still regarded as one of the best rap albums ever recorded by a man. Extraordinarily, the album was created with a team of almost all male collaborators, including Q-Tip, DJ Premier, Pete Rock and fellow male rapper AZ. (Somehow, despite all the testosterone in the room, it didn’t even wind up sounding like the score to a dick-flick.) Anyone who disagrees just has to listen to them. Also he was part of the best rap group ever NWA. He also made the careers of Game, Eminem, 50 Cent, Snoop and even contributed to the Nas career. He is wildly known as the best producer/beat maker ever. He is the best rapper alive.

7. Snoop Dogg

Out of Long Beach, Calif., Snoop Dogg introduced himself to the entertainment world while trading verses and barbs with Dr. Dre on the Deep Cover movie soundtrack. From there, Snoop starred as a talented protégé, who was featured heavily throughout Dr. Dre’s classic album, Chronic. In 1993, Snoop Dogg was to debut as a solo artist with his own critically acclaimed Doggystyle LP.

Snoop’s laid back, smooth “California cool” voice inflection delivered the perfect contrast juxtaposed to the blaring, head-banging signature Dr. Dre production. Snoop Dogg will forever be immortalized as the leader of the G-Funk Era, which fused modern hip hop with 1970s soul music. As he matured, Snoop moved on to popular music and achieved unparalleled success, receiving six Grammy award nominations between 2004 and 2013, according to IMDB.

8. Kendrick Lamar

Kendrick Lamar is an American rapper and songwriter best known for his interesting take on life on Southern California’s tough streets, and for his affiliation with rap star and super-producer Dr. Dre.

Lamar’s appeal to the masses didn’t stop there. The thought-provoking lyrics on his debut album caught the attention of hip-hop critics as well, with MTV naming him the “Hottest MC” of 2012—putting him in the company of other rappers who have earned the title, including Lil Wayne, Jay-Z and Kanye West.

Additionally, critics took note of Lamar’s verse on the song “Control,” by rapper Big Sean. Although the track was penned by another artist, Lamar’s verse drew attention because of his challenge to several other popular names in the hip-hop world, including Drake, J. Cole and Big Sean himself. The bold claims in the controversial verse rapped by Lamar brought about a vibe that was reminiscent of the classic hip-hop era, drawing appreciation from critics, rappers and fans alike.

Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., who you will know better as Lil Wayne, is a rapper from New Orleans, Louisiana. At the beginning, he was a part of the hip-hop group Hot Boys, who he released three albums with. William Michael Griffin, Jr. (born January 28, 1968), better known by his stage name Rakim, is an American emcee. One half of golden age hip hop duo Eric B. & Rakim, he is widely regarded as one of the most influential and most skilled MCs of all time.

Eric B. & Rakim’s classic album Paid in Full was named the greatest hip hop album of all time by MTV in 2006, while Rakim himself was ranked #4 on MTV’s list of the Greatest MCs of All Time. Steve Huey of Allmusic stated that “Rakim is near-universally acknowledged as one of the greatest MCs perhaps the greatest of all time within the hip-hop community.” The editors of About.com ranked him #2 on their list of the ‘Top 50 MCs of Our Time (1987–2007)’. Rakim began his career as the emcee of the rap duo Eric B. & Rakim, who in 2011 were nominated for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
